Taking place on Saturday 3 October, this performance in a public space is conceived as the highlight of Nefeli Papadimouli’s project, as it links the works on display in the exhibition’s two venues: Le Grand Café and the Radôme.
Local residents become performers: they wander through the city, wearing costumes they have assembled from the textile forms that make up Lignes de désir, on display at Le Grand Café. The sound of whistles sets the pace for the parade: it draws attention, unites people and signals that something is happening. Across Saint-Nazaire, a port and industrial city, bodies and whistles trace a shifting line through the city. Deliberately, they evoke collective mobilisations and sketch out alternative ways of inhabiting and collectively engaging with public space, like a new spatial and sonic score unfolding within the urban fabric.
A call for participants is being launched for this performance: more information to follow shortly.
